How to measure
sliding wardrobe doors
Measure the opening only. We work out the door and track sizes for you. It takes about five minutes with a tape measure and a spirit level.
Measure the width
Measure the opening width wall to wall (or architrave to architrave if your opening has trims), in two places: near the top and near the bottom, just above the skirting. Write both down.
Skirting boards: measure above them, not over them. Where skirting runs into the opening it will need to be removed where the track and side jambs sit, before the doors are installed.
Measure the height
Measure the opening height from the finished floor to the underside of the top (ceiling, bulkhead or head trim), in two places: the left side and the right side. Write both down.
Changing the flooring? Measure after the new floor is laid where possible, so the height allows for it. If that is not possible, measure to the existing floor and tell us the new floor thickness.
Check internal drawers clear the doors
Sliding doors only open across part of the opening at a time. If you have internal drawers, baskets or cupboard doors, make sure they can open while a sliding door is in front of the next section.
Check the floor
Rest a spirit level where the bottom track will sit and check across the full opening. On carpet, soft underlay or uneven floors you may need a floor batten so the track has a solid, level base.
