Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about measuring, ordering, delivery and installing your Custom DIY Sliding Wardrobe Doors.
The main differences are the visible frame and the depth of the track. Framed doors have a strong aluminium frame on all four sides and run on an 82 mm double or 122 mm triple track, with the widest choice of inserts. Slimline doors are also fully framed but run on a narrower 57 mm double or 81 mm triple track, making them ideal for shallow wardrobe reveals. Frameless doors have a minimal edge frame for a clean, premium appearance and run on an 82 mm double or 122 mm triple track. All three styles are custom made in Australia to suit your wardrobe opening.
Custom sliding wardrobe doors currently start from $420 for Framed, $499 for Slimline and $690 for Frameless, all including FREE local delivery to eligible areas. Your final price depends on the height and width of your opening, the number of doors, your frame colour, your chosen inserts and any optional extras.
Your order includes your custom-made sliding wardrobe doors and the compatible track system selected during the online design process. Design your doors online and see your complete price before ordering, with no showroom appointment, quote request or wait for a salesperson.
You can order sliding wardrobe doors for openings up to 2700 mm high and 3900 mm wide through our online configurators. If your opening is larger or has unusual requirements, contact our team with your measurements and we will let you know what is possible. Every set is custom made to suit the opening measurements you submit rather than supplied in standard sizes.
The right number of doors depends on the width of your opening, the door style, the track system and the access required to your wardrobe interior. As a guide, openings up to 2100mm wide suit two doors, and wider openings suit three or more.
Remember to consider the position of internal drawers, shelves and hanging sections because the doors overlap and determine which parts of your wardrobe can be accessed when open. Enter your measurements into the relevant online configurator to see the options available for your opening.
Yes. You can replace old, damaged or outdated sliding wardrobe doors while keeping your existing shelves, drawers, hanging rails and wardrobe interior.
Your new doors are supplied with a compatible new top and bottom track, so they do not depend on the condition or profile of your existing track system. Measure the complete finished wardrobe opening rather than measuring the existing doors or tracks.
Measure the complete finished wardrobe opening, not the existing doors or tracks. Record the height on both the left and right sides, then measure the width across both the top and bottom, giving you four measurements in total.
Small differences are common because wardrobe openings are rarely perfectly square. Enter all four measurements exactly as taken rather than averaging or rounding them. Follow our step-by-step measuring guide and measure every position twice before ordering.
Book a free 15-minute Design Call before ordering. We will look at your wardrobe opening with you, check where you are measuring from and help you feel more confident before your custom doors go into production.
Every order is also reviewed against the measurements you provide before manufacture. If something does not look right, we will contact you before your doors are made. Because each order is custom manufactured, the final measurements submitted remain your responsibility and doors made from incorrect measurements cannot automatically be remade free of charge.
Yes. When sliding wardrobe doors are installed over carpet, the bottom track requires a firm, level timber batten so the doors run correctly and remain clear of the carpet pile.
The required batten depends on whether you have selected a double or triple track. Install the batten across the full width of the opening and measure the opening height from the top of the batten, not from the carpet. Refer to our measuring and installation guides before submitting your measurements.
Yes. Wardrobes 2U doors arrive custom made and ready to install rather than as flat-pack doors requiring assembly. Follow our step-by-step installation guide to fit the tracks, position the doors and adjust the rollers. Basic tools and a second person to help lift and position the doors are recommended.
If you would prefer us to do it for you, professional installation can be added in eligible service areas. Installation is completed by our own experienced Wardrobes 2U team. We do not use subcontracted installers.
Custom orders are made and delivered within 12 working days, depending on your selections, delivery location and our current production schedule. Our team will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery day.
We deliver your doors ourselves throughout our local delivery area. Your order is handled by our own Wardrobes 2U team rather than passed to a third-party freight courier. Free delivery is available to eligible locations across the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah and Byron Bay, with delivery charges applying to selected outer areas.
Need your doors sooner? Contact us before ordering and we will let you know what may be possible.
Yes. The mirror and painted glass used in applicable Wardrobes 2U ranges comply with AS/NZS 2208 requirements for safety glazing materials in buildings. Product construction varies between door styles and inserts, so refer to the specifications displayed within your selected door range for full details.
Glass and mirror doors must always be handled and installed in accordance with the supplied instructions. If you are uncertain about safely lifting or positioning the doors, professional installation is available in eligible service areas.
Wardrobes 2U sliding wardrobe doors come with a five year limited product warranty. Eligible manufacturing defects affecting the frames, tracks, rollers and hardware are covered, subject to our warranty terms, conditions and exclusions.
Accidental damage, impact, misuse and damage caused by incorrect handling or installation are not covered by the limited product warranty. Your warranty operates in addition to the rights and remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
